PHOTO 9

Outside of the Bistro at Pepperrell Cove

The Frisbee Market seen in the photo was opened in 1908.  It was said to be the oldest family run grocery store in America.  The Frisbee family operated the store from 1908 to 2019 when a small fire destroyed the interior.  It was then sold to a group of locals, who has masterfully renovated it to the Pepperrell Cove destination that it is today.

In this photo there were still warehouses on the pier behind the store at this point, and the horse and wagon seen here were on the weigh scales before they left with their load of coal.  The house to the right of the store was owned by the first Frank Frisbee, however, it burned in the 1950s, and that area is now a parking lot.
